Nuvoton Technology, the Taiwan-based semiconductor manufacturer, has announced the launch of its new series of ARM Cortex-M0, 32-bit Microcontrollers that features a dual-mode for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE5.0) and 2.4GHz Proprietary. These new NuMicro M031BT microcontrollers can operate between 1.8V to 3.6V at a frequency of 47MHz and provides up to 128KB Flash memory and 16KB SRAM. These features along with the built-in rich peripherals and analog functions make this microcontroller an optimal choice for applications that require industrial wireless connectivity and rigid sensor hubs.
Apart from the dual-mode BLE5.0 and 2.4GHz proprietary, the controller also provides various I/O and includes a 16 channel 12-bit 2 MSPS ADCs, 3 sets of UART, 2 sets of I2C, and one set of Universal Serial Control Interface (USCI) that can be configured as UART, SPI, and I2C.
These new controllers have good radio frequency networking functions that can provide an RF transmit power of +8 dM and receiving sensitivity of -94 dBM with a transmission speed of 1 Mb/s to 2 Mb/s. It also has an anti-noise interference function to perform better in noisy 2.4GHz environments and offers low transmit power consumption to prolong battery life. These features allow the controller to be used in a wide range of IIoT, smart home, and consumer electronics applications.
To protect the intellectual property rights, the NuMicro M031BT series is embedded with an additional security protection Flash block (Security Protection ROM, SPROM) to provide an independent and secure encrypted execution area to protect critical program code. Flash lock bits are designed to provide firmware to prevent external access or write protection. A 96-bit unique chip identification (Unique Identification, UID) and 128-bit unique customer identification (UCID) on each M031BT significantly improves product confidentiality and code security.
