The microscope works as described. I use it for live feed during PCB repair work. Here are a few additional notes for other buyers. (a) As described on many websites, for these USB microscopes the stand that comes with the scope is not heavy enough – it will tip for most alignment angles of the scope. Another mount/stand is necessary to prevent the scope from tipping, as well as provide some workspace height clearance. (b) I use the “USB Camera” app (by ShenYao China) on android store with my phone, as it appears more stable than other apps. It auto-focuses after changing the zoom. (c) The rotary zoom mechanism on the scope works fine for all relevant distances from the scope. When the scope is on sturdy mount, the rotary motion is stable enough to be changed without losing image focus. (d) Live feed is stable enough with sturdy mounts, n provides decent imagery. The snapshot images taken from the app are not great, but still usable – though I don’t usually need them during pcb repairs. As expected, taking snapshot images using the button on scope is usually bad idea since at that zoom there’s significant wobble. (e) Lighting works fine; however it is straight down from inside the scope. For pcb work, additional external lighting is recommended to light up the board, as it gives better imagery during repairs.
