Gas sensors (also known as gas detectors) are electronic devices that detect and identify different types of gasses. They are commonly used to detect toxic or explosive gasses and measure gas concentration.
Electrochemical. Electrochemical gas detectors work by allowing gases to diffuse through a porous membrane to an electrode where it is either chemically oxidized or reduced. The amount of current produced is determined by how much of the gas is oxidized at the electrode, indicating the concentration of the gas.
Gas sensors are devices that can detect the presence and concentration of various hazardous gases and vapors, such as toxic or explosive gases, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), humidity, and odors .
