The XL4015 5A DC-DC Step Down Adjustable Power Supply Buck Module is a 180 KHz fixed frequency PWM buck (step-down) DC/DC module, capable of driving a 5A load with high efficiency, low ripple, and excellent line and load regulation.

This product is a 180 kHz fixed frequency PWM buck (step-down) DC/DC module, capable of driving a 5A load with high efficiency,  low ripple, and excellent line and load regulation. 

The DC/DC buck module has applications where the input voltage is higher than the output voltage, such as battery, power transformer, DIY adjustable regulated power supply, LCD Monitor and LCD TV portable instrument power supply telecom/networking equipment, 24V vehicle notebook power supply, industrial equipment buck.

This module has an adjustable output Voltage. Also works as a dedicated charger for Lithium Batteries (Li-Ion, LiPo) as it is capable of controlling voltage. Ex. 12V buck to 3.3V, 12V buck to 5V, 24V buck to 5V,24V buck to 12V, 36V buck to 24V, etc.

    Item received in good condition. I am using this as an alternative to the conventional BEC to power my RC receiver and using 2S Lipo as power source. The screw terminal doesn’t really work for me, with and without load. Current delivery appears to be good since I have tested the setup with 5-6 servos running together on it. Doesn’t get hot or anything during 10 minutes of continuous testing.

    Discussion says that voltage can be adjusted only under load. I have tried that but apparently there is something more to it. Hence, I can only get a voltage equal to my source voltage. Fortunately, my Rx can take that much voltage.

    Additionally, I think it will cause some RF interference and needs to be carefully placed in your drone or plane. To use it as BEC, I have soldered the cable and connectors, wrapped the module with Aluminium foil to block the RF interference (Making sure that it doesn’t short-circuit any of the components on the circuit itself) and then applied heat shrink tube on it. More or less it looks like a BEC now. 😉

    Happy so far except for the voltage adjustment. Will find out more during the flight.
