The NanoPi R6S (as “R6S”) is an open-source and high-performance platform developed and designed by FriendlyElec for edge computing. It has a dual-2.5G and Gbps Ethernet ports. It is integrated with a Rockchip RK3588S CPU and 32GB eMMC flash. It supports multiple OS systems including FriendlyWrt, Android, Debian, Ubuntu and more. In addition, it supports GPU and VPU acceleration. The R6S has rich hardware resources all on its compact size of 90 x 62 mm. FriendlyElec has released a carefully designed CNC housing for it. It has one HDMI port capable of decoding video streams of 8K@60fps H.265/VP9, 8K@30fps H.264, and more.
The R6S has two USB ports and supports USB Type-C-based PD power delivery which makes it a good power source for an external hard disk. The R6S is specially featured for enterprise applications such as mini-machine vision systems that need multiple Ethernet ports, as well as platforms for electronic hobbyists to explore various possibilities.
